I had received one book from the haiku association "Asuka" in Yokohama that collected only season words that related to rice farm before. There are written fairly a lot. It starts from "Choice of seeds" of spring, "Weeding" of summer and "Drying rice" of the harvest season. Totally, there are written 200 words. The number of words tells the history of Japan that is with rice farm.
The first harvesting in the year is called, "Sickle beginning". However, before the harvest of pleasure uneasiness of the rice farm farmer in East Japan is raised. It becomes impossible for the farmer who put it on the great care to ship if the radioactive substance more than the standard is detected.
A good rice making is said that we have to take care of them 88 times until the harvest as the Chinese character of "rice" show the meaning. However, even with the great care, human power and intelligence, the result is beyond human control. There is no way for us other than trying every possible way, and cling to blessing of the universe such as the sun, rain, and winds.
